I have been working with Open Source Software (OSS) since 2004, having mastered a number of different applications, such as Mambo, Joomla, Moodle, Google Applications, SalesForce, SugarCRM and osCommerce, amongst others.
As one of the technical staff at the University of Zululand, I used to tutor students in website computing modules, which enabled them to develop and manage websites using one of these systems.
As the Moodle webmaster at UZ, which was in the pilot phase of implementation, I was engaged in a research project, with colleagues looking at the use of OSS in higher education.
