Similar to an electronic bulletin board, mailing lists are e-mail "distribution" lists, used in business primarily for advertisment and marketing purposes. All of our CMS websites can easily be upgraded to offer mailing lists systems.
For the purpose of marketing and advertisement campaigns mailing lists may be maintained with a dedicated server, provided that their application is regulated by appropriate systems and non-abusive conduct. We support the guideline layed out in (the widely accepted industry standard) MAPS - Mail Abuse Prevention System - http://www.mail-abuse.org (external link). Here is a "best-practice" guide-line on how to implement and maintain an acceptable mailing list:
By adhering to the above procedure you would seek to abide by the following principles: - All communication is consensual.
- No one should ever have to unsubscribe from a list they did not intentionally subscribe to.
